I'm close to achieving LTPP under the legacy Marriott rules and was curious if the app will reflect the new Lifetime status or will I have to wait until January?
Our Community Manager's posted this a couple hours ago and it may apply to your situation, but not sure:All together now.
For members whose accounts are still displaying incorrect Lifetime Elite status, we expect this issue to be resolved over the next week. However, while Lifetime Elite status may be displaying incorrectly, members’ current Elite status and benefits should be correct. As a reminder, SPG members who qualify for Lifetime Platinum Premier in 2018 will receive notice of their achievement in January 2019.
It was weird that it only read as SPG members who qualify.
Yeah, I think that is only because Marriott bought SPG. It would be the other way around if SPG bought Marriott. Just speculating but I bet it would be interesting to hear some of the boardroom chatter.
If you didn't make it by new program launch, then you will be updated in January (but, don't be surprised if it takes effect not too long after you achieve it). If you aren't updated in 2018, you won't have a valid complaint however, because everything that's been stated indicates notification in January 2019. Now, if it is February 2019, and your status still isn't correct, demand justice!
We all know all too well what the new year brings and questions of status. The last three years I've wondered if I've renewed my Platinum Premier status and find out once I received that gift. I'm sure 2019 will be much the same. Too make it just a little more frustrating, had they not merged, my Elite Nights from my credit card anniversary were to post on 8/19 putting me over the top for Lifetime Platinum in the Marriott legacy program. One day! Now that is part of the bug and has yet to post to my account. Drama.
