Trouble matching status with SPG

How can I find out which SPG account my Marriott account is linked to? 

I have Gold status with SPG and Member status with Marriott.  I was able to follow link from this forum to link my Marriott Rewards to SPG, and it appeared to go through just fine.  However, the Marriott Rewards site still says I have Member Status, not Gold.  From everything I've read, the status matching should be instant.  When I go to link from the SPG website, I get an error message.  I suspect I have a second (dormant) account with SPG which is now linked with my Marriott Rewards account. I have a Marriott Stay coming up on Sunday and I want to make sure I have the status' matched before I check in...

I was able to get someone at SPG, who doesn't know what the issue is, and has forwarded the case upstairs...

No answer from the Marriott side.
