I called on Friday May 4 and spoke to a customer service agent. I cannot believe how rude the agent was. I asked why I was not notified about points expiring. She said you got an email you did not read it. I happen to be one of those people who never cleans up their email inbox. I have emails from 2010, I clean up spam and file important stuff into labeled folders. The rest I leave in my inbox so that if I ever need to check on an email all I have to do is search my inbox. Well I have hundreds of emails in my Inbox from Marriott trip offers and lots of special offers and guess what not an email about points expiring. She said well you have not stayed with us in 2 years so your points are gone. On top of it she insinuated that Marriott did not mind losing people who did not stay at their hotels on a regular basis. How disappointing to be treated in that way.
