expired points... worth chasing?

like most i didn't realize that our points expire and just spoke with customer care which seems like he could care less as i kept asking to speak with his direct supervisor just like any ideal customer service person would and was just adamant about not being able to change anything and that the supervisors don't want to talk to the customers and threatened to hang up not once not twice and eventually did. i had 72,*** points all gone and he offered me 2k as compensation. is it worth it to keep trying? points expired in January but never seen an email in regards.
