The Envoy Hotel, part of the Autograph Collection, is located just over the Seaport Ave. bridge along Boston's Fort Port Channel.  It is convenient to Boston's financial district (just across the Seaport bridge) and to many restaurants and businesses in the area and along Northern Ave.  It is also a short walk to Quincy Marketplace, the Aquarium, and Boston's waterfront.  It is a bit of a walk to the Boston Convention Center, so if that is your main reason to travel to that section of Boston, you might be better off at the Westin, Aloft or Element Hotels.

The Envoy, at only 6 stories tall, none-the-less has the best roof-top lounge in Boston.  This lounge has been listed in multiple publications as the best in Boston.  It has the best view of Boston's skyline and of Boston harbor.  This lounge is extremely busy on Friday and Saturday nights, and it is not unusual to have a line form outside the hotel to gain access.  Hotel guests have priority access.  If you are staying at this hotel in the winter (Jan - April), not to worry, the roof-top lounge is open Wednesday - Sunday with its roof-top igloos.  When was the last time you hung out in an igloo while enjoying your favorite beverage?

This hotel has no Club Lounge, and newspapers are a thing of the past (no free papers anywhere and there is no lobby gift shop to purchase one).  The rooms are bright and modern with floor to ceiling windows.  The bathroom setup is a bit interesting since the walls and the sliding door are all glass and mostly see through. The walk-in shower and toilet also have glass doors which are frosted half way up and clear on top.  Modesty is not a word that you will hear used when describing the room setup.  The bathroom fixtures and lighting are quite attractive and functional.  There is also a very handy "master" switch next to the front door that can be used to turn off all the lights upon exiting (I wish more hotels had this feature).

Finally, there is a very nice lobby bar/lounge and a great restaurant called the Out Look.

I have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay.  They do a good job of recognizing their Elite guests, and I have received some very nice room upgrades as a result.
