Getting away from this cold weather soon to Naples, Florida.
Any advice on what to see, what to do, or a restaurant recommendation?
I've been a few times but usually in spring, so perhaps a bit different. Certainly the Ritz on the beach is a marvelous property, but of course, you'll pay for it (a friend stayed at the Golf Ritz and said that was excellent also - especially as a golfer).
The SpringHill and Fairfield off I-75 are away from the action, but with a car are fine stays.
I enjoyed kayaking, biking, sunset cruises (all available, many with deals w/Groupon) and of course dining. It's hard to go wrong on 5th Avenue with their variety of excellent restaurants (use your usual criteria and you'll end up with a nice meal, a lot with pleasant patio dining). I also liked walking through the Botanical Gardens. Just driving the neighborhoods and seeing the net worth is fun as well .
We have a bon vivant right in the neighborhood tef6178, but like Punxsutawny Phil, only occasionally pops his head up on the forum (and besides he's probably lunching with Mick and Keith). If lightning strikes and he sees this, he'll have some excellent ideas and picks.
See Insiders and communitymanagers, this is the cost of six Status Challenges and other repetitive requests constantly popping up and moving threads off of the board - we miss out on actually attempting to help travelers. Let's (as suggested by scores of Insiders) find repetitive questions a home on the Front Page and kill two birds with one stone; 1) helping folks who need registration assistance and 2) keeping travel support as a key function of the forum.
