I will have a few days in Singapore pre-cruise. Debating on where to stay and might just take the hop on hop off.
RitC- is very nice and expensive with water view room, loved the shower. Marriott on Orchard Blvd. is the shopping paradise, JW is near the main tourist area. City is very, very easy to get around by bus, metro or HOHO, my opinion is to book the cheapest room availiable and go with it. I am currently in BKK Marriott(s), will do a report on all four hotels later this month, I will be in SIN- Marriott Orchard for Feb and April cruises with Celebrity. Enjoy your trip. Michael
Appreciate the insight. Heading there in Feb and booked 5 reward nights at the JW. Stayed at the Fullerton and Raffes the last two years, before I was a Marriott dude. Made platinum last month so I'll be checking out how it pans out there.
One complaint I've read about is lack of sun on the pool areas. Coming from Germany in mid winter, I'll be looking for some sun!
Hi C, I use to do some work in Singapore and always stayed at the Marriott Tang Plaza on Orchard Road - great staff and the best Concierge Lounge ever ... at least, when I stayed there, last visit about 6 years ago. Easy access to the underground shops etc. directly outside the hotel. If you like wine, try and swing a visit to Divine's Wine Bar. It's set in an amazing Art Deco building (looks like something from Gotham City) and there are 'wine fairies'! Check out the website. I hope that you enjoy your visit - I loved it. Let me know if you need any more info.
