Does credit card purchases counts toward lifetime Points? Is it possible to earn life time points through credit card purchases ONLY? Are the annual 15 nights earned from credit cards counted toward Life time Nights? Thanks.
Yes to all three questions.
Silver - 250 nights 1.2 million pts
Gold - 500 nights 1.6 million pts
Platinum - 750 nights 2.0 million pts
Marriott used to have a 12 year rule - but removed it, so spend away
And, you can earn elite nights (15 each) on both the MR Visa and the MR Business Visa, so you can earn 30 nights per year alone from simply holding the credit cards and having them in good standing. And you earn 1 elite night credit for every $3,000 spent on the card, for each card separately. If you held both cards for 25 years and didn't earn elite nights any other way, you'd have enough nights to be Lifetime Platinum. Or, if you spent $15k/year on one card for 20 years (100 nights) and held both cards for the same timeframe (600 nights), you'd have 700 nights and would need to scrape together another 50 nights over that 20 year span. This would get you to Lifetime Platinum under today's Marriott program rules, but keep in mind the rules could change once the Marriwood/Starriott rewards programs are merged together.
