Is there any recognition for Lifetime Platinum? I achieved this level a couple of months ago however have not received any form of acknowledgement from Marriott. Is Lifetime Platinum the same as Platinum Premier?
You're supposed to get one of these (and congrats)
retiredbkr, congratulations on achieving Lifetime Platinum status! That likely took a lot of time on the road away from family and friends.
In addition to the card shown in the picture above, you no longer need 75 nights a year to qualify. You've made it to the top of the Marriott mountain ... for now We don't know if there will be any changes to lifetime status when the programs fully merge (Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest) late 2018 (best estimate). This site will be a good place to stay plugged in on any changes to the program. For now, we've been told to stay in our lanes for lifetime pursuits, and the merger FAQs document tells us lifetime status will continue to be recognized. That's encouraging
Platinum Premier is a different status. It is conferred on what we believe to be the top 3% of Platinum travelers who have averaged over 125 nights a year for at least 3 years. It's imprecise in what qualifies one for this status, but this is what we think we know. The only tangible benefit to this Uber status is a complimentary bump to United Gold status on United Airlines.
Congratulations again on your lifetime status! Safe travels!
Thank you for reaching out, we have sent you a response via direct message!
