Is there an official Premium Platinum membership? If so, what are the requirements and what additional benefit from regular Platinum?
Search the MRI site for "Platinum Premier" and you will find numbers of postings describing the "mystery" requirements to achieve this level and the real lack of additional benefits over the Platinum level (the only real benefit being an 800#) which, ironically, MR has been trying for years to move away from traditional phone calls for reservations (expanded reservations site, mobile apps, etc.).
pingreeman I Agree that there is plenty of information available on this site regarding PP and its pro's and cons and what is needed to achieve PP. The only other tangible benefit I have experienced was United Gold Status. To me this has been a tangible benefit over complimentary silver status, but I don't use United often, PP complimentary gold status helped me out on one flight this year, not a regular United flier by any means.
I a LTP and a Platinum Premier elite. apparently that status is only available to 3% of members, I stay at least 150 nights per year, and get some really great upgrades
booked a Standard room in London Park Lane, at checking I was offered a room in JW Grovesnor house just down the road, they drove me there and when I checked in they gave me a huge suite for the 5 nights over new year, champagne complimentary in the room and in the lounge, fresh cakes left every day, fruit etc etc, normal price of the suite was £1750 per night, I paid £220. every day fresh flowers were left in the room, at reception i was told " Thank you for your brand loyalty"
I get many suite upgrades in Florida Keys and most European hotels, if there are no good upgrades available, and I never ask for them, I have been given complimentary dinner for two
