HNN - 5 things Marriott’s Sorenson has to say about hotels
Use of the word rapid is not my opinion, just that of the Marriott International CEO.
“Early on, the thing I didn’t appreciate that I should have was how rabid the SPG elites were about the program,” he said. “Maybe that shouldn’t have been that surprising.”
Yeah i suppose "rabid" is not the proper term but when reading in context it seems he intended it to be a positive description. But still probably best to make sure they all get their current rabies shots.
Well I did post the link for context.
I like that SPGer's want to hold on to what they have. Marriott could learn a thing or 3 about customer service, guest appreciation/satisfaction, and technology problem solving from SPG. The hope is Marriott will come up to SPG's level, but Marriott being Marriott, that's not likely to happen. SPG'ers have very little incentive to stay at Marriott besides Marriott's having such a large footprint and the 1 to 3 point transfer. When the CEO calls them Rabid, regardless of his meaning, well, I say stay Rabid in your loyalty SPGers. Make Marriott improve to the SPG level.
