I am staying at the AC hotel Firenze. As a gold elite member, breakfast is usually included.
However, I was told it would be an additional charge here. Is this correct?
AC Hotels breakfast are not included,
the terms and conditions
Enjoy refreshments and complimentary breakfast for you and one guest in the lounge. In the U.S. and Canada, at hotels without a lounge or if the lounge is closed, you’ll have a choice of continental breakfast in the restaurant or 750 points. In Europe, hotels without a lounge offer a choice of breakfast for two in the restaurant or 750 points. See terms and conditions for full details and any exclusions.
At JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance Hotels®, Marriott Hotels® and Delta Hotels®. Resorts are excluded.
There are reviews on the hotels website that complain about this --
Great insight, rlswider! You are spot on, AC Hotels do not participate in the Guaranteed Concierge Lounge/Complimentary Breakfast benefit. Thanks!
rlswider is 100% right here.
Breakfast is only included at Marriotts full service hotel brands (exc resorts) - that's Marriott, Delta, Renaissance, JW Marriott and Autograph. Most of the other non-full-service brands include breakfast for all guests (e.g. Fairfield, Residence Inn, Springhill, Towneplace) but there are 2 standout brands, the established and enormous Courtyard and the predominantly-Mediterranean AC. They are being joined by the Millenial-Moxy - it seems millenials don't like breakfast or desks and Moxy is happy to indulge them!
Short answer - no free breakfast at AC - and 2 other brands as well!
I am currently in Spain and have stayed at AC Hotels in Burgos, Leon, Pamplona, Madrid, and Toledo. We have not had free breakfast in any hotel. We have, however, been upgraded in all of the hotels. Overall, a pretty good experience.
Platinum members always get free breakfast, but not sure about gold members; probably depends on the local hotel, and regular Marriott's more likely to provide breakfast than affiliate AC ones.
