Resort Fees Increasing at Waikiki Marriott.  Are They Increasing Everywhere?

Beginning April 1st, 2017, resort fees at Waikiki Marriott Resort and Spa will increase from $30/night to $35/night, with an additional $50/night fee for each additional guest (guests 3 and 4.)  Yikes, this is Marriott's response to all of the dissatisfaction with resort fees?

What we got for our $30/night for our 2 night stay (total of $60):

1 breakfast coupon per room per day

1 Mai Tai coupon per day

10% off of 50 minute or more spa services

Shutterfly photo book

25% off of the two lower end restaurants (not the expensive ones)

FRee fitness class daily

FRee cultural class daily

unlimited dvd rentals

$10 off paddle board or surf lesson

other benefits that gold/plats already receive, i.e. free phone calls, free enhanced Internet

Since resorts aren't bound to the comp breakfast requirements in the MR T&C's for plat/gold guests, I felt we received our money's worth.  We didn't lose money on the spend, anyway.
