Can MVCI Destination Points be used to reserve rooms at Marriott Hotels or do they need to be converted to Marriott Rewards Points?
hrochas1, you can use MVCI points at certain Marriott-branded hotels, but not all of them. It's RC, JW, Marriott flagship brand, and AU properties and not the less expensive brands like FFI. I will see if I can log onto my account and find the list and will paste below if I can...

Thank you, quite a list.
Using MVC DC points for Marriott stays is not a very good value. The best value for DC points is for the MVC resorts. Keep in mind that points can be banked and additional points can easily be rented for about .50 per point if you need more points for a vacation stay. MCV resort typically have free parking, no resort fees or taxes.
superchief1, yes I agree that redemption value is best at the MVCI properties. But it is nice to have additional options if you're in a pinch and have a "use it or lose it" situation.
Understood, not a good use, but it's nice to have the option where there are no MVCI properties available.
Generally speaking, I would suggest that using MVC "Destination Points", which are bought at price, would not be a wise use at Marriott hotels, unless, perhaps you have no access to Marriott Reward points via your stays in Marriott properties (using Marriott Reward membership), or Marriott Visa charge card purchases. I'm sure there are those would perhaps disagree. If I didn't have "reward points", I'd prefer to pay for the hotel fees and enroll in "reward program", to begin accumulating reward points, and save my "Destination Points" for what I intended to use them for when signing up for this program.
