We had a great time at the Courtyard Pasadena. We have been many times as my in-laws always stay here when they come into town but we have never stayed. However, we decided it would just be easier this time around to spend a night instead of driving the 45 minutes to and from West Hollywood both days. Unfortunately, this was a last-minute idea that we did not have until after we were already visiting in Pasadena. As I perused the Marriott App I found no rooms available at the Courtyard, The Residence Inn across the street, or any other hotel closer than Arcadia. Thankfully, my in-laws had made friends with the Manager, Conrad, and he was most helpful in booking us into the very last empty room in the hotel for the night. He even noted that we are Gold Members and since he wasn't able to get us into a room with a King, offered us free breakfast the next morning! Perfect! As with most of the other Courtyards we have stayed in, it was updated, comfortable, modern, full of friendly staff and conveniently located walking distance to everything in Old Town Pasadena. Which is perfect because the parking structure connects to the hotel on every floor. So if you are on the fifth floor, you can park on the fifth level and walk right in/out of the hotel to/from your car. It's a great hotel and we were so happy we were finally able to stay there, even if for only one night.
The only cons we have were with the room's bathroom. The faucet is very difficult to manipulate. As the design is not one of any particular artistry, it clearly was a mistake by whoever chose them. There is this stick thing pointing out fo the top of the faucet and no matter which way you try and move it (which is already difficult because it is quite stiff), it does something different from the last time. We never seemed to be able to get it to shut off completely, either. Additionally, the shower drains very slowly. The water level would fill up to our ankles and then sort of stay there, which was kind of like taking a foot bath. The pressure, however, was really good, so it was kind of disappointing that the water wouldn't drain out.
