Where are you, ks83 ? .................................
JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru
And what's the lounge like? Pretty good lounge located on the 14th floor with views of the Cubbon Park.
How's the evening food? Pretty good selection - although did not get a chance to try it out as was in a hurry to leave. But looking at the set up I am pretty sure you can make a dinner out of it. They also have high tea in the afternoon from 2 to 4 PM with bit sized appetizers.
Any free alcohol? Yes - everyday they have happy hour from 4 to 8 PM with pretty good selection of rum, wines, beers, whiskey - you name it.
Whats the hours? Unfortunately its closed for breakfast - but you do get breakfast at JW Kitchen in the lobby and its outstanding.
And are they being meanies and closing the lounge at weekends? No they are wonderful people who keep it open 7 days a week but only from 2 PM to 8 PM.
How about Plat breakfast? As I said earlier you will get breakfast at the JW kitchen in the lobby with plenty of options to choose from - chinese, western, indian with make to order parathas, dosas, omlette stations. They even have a fresh coconut water station. I had frrsh orange juice everyday and it was indeed freshly squeezed. The service is outstanding both at the lounge and at breakfast.
Upgrades? This is my second stay in 3 years - both redemptions as cash rates is pretty crazy - $250 even before factoring the 28% taxes. It used to be a cat 3 but not its a 5 but still good value. This time I was upgraded to the executive floor but still non- suite room. I was given a welcome back letter at check in. I had booked 2 seperate stays - one for 2 nights and another for a single night as I was not sure before the hotel went up by a category how many nights I needes the room for. I arrived at around 4 30 AM after a long flight and got the room immediately as I had booked for the prev night itself. I did not want to risk the room not being available that early in the morning.
So I am sat in the executive lounge at the JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru and its excellent - 5/5.
