NYC Edition review

Blog Post created by ks83 on Feb 27, 2018

I recently stayed a single night at this hotel near Madison Square Park.

I had booked a LNF rate which came to $192.81 before taxes. The hotel is on the small street      (E 24) right off Madison Ave. The sign is pretty small and you might actually miss it if you are not paying attention.

I arrived early at around 10 AM after checking out of the Moxy and was told that the rooms were not available (of couse I knew this as I had gotten an email 2 days before stating that the room might not be ready even by the standard check in time of 3 PM as they were running at full occupancy. They said I could use the penthouse lounge till the room was ready - but I could not take up on their offer).

They took my luggage and said they would text me when the room was ready - I got it around 3.

I arrived around 8 PM and check in was swift. I was given a superior room and a deluxe room (I had booked 2 rooms as I was travelling with my friend and his spouse), both on the same floor.

The room was nice for the rate I was paying but the rate at which it normally goes - upwards of 500, I had a hard time thinking what justifies that. I know I am in NYC and its supposed to be a luxury brand but the rooms were not that big either.

There was a fur throw which was pretty comfortable and thats it. The shower in the deluxe room did not have a closing door which lead to the floor being all wet. I found it rather weird that many hotels dont have closing doors for the showers.

I stayed here because of the LNF rate and I wanted to try the Edition brand - but I am not that impressed although I am in the minority as the hotel was full of business people which I think is their main clientele.

I would give it a 3/5.

mustanggt , I see that you have an upcoming stay there, do let me know if your opinions differ.
