Moxy NYC Times Square Review

Blog Post created by ks83 on Feb 27, 2018

I stayed at this hotel for a single night recently. I wanted to try the Moxy brand and of course wanted to collect the key card.

The location is nice as its just down the road from Times Square, close enough to walk and just far away from all the noise.

I arrived a bit early - around 11 AM and was impressed immediately. The check in area looked pretty cool and the agent thanked me for my platinum status and said they had only one room ready ( I had booked 2 rooms). She also gave me 3 coins which could be redeemed for a free welcome drink at the Moxy lounge.

They have smart elevators in the building where you have to enter the floor before entering them - this was pretty cool but I saw a coupld of people struggling with this.

The room looked pretty cool with folding chairs, table all hung on hooks along the wall. I instantly liked the design and the friend I was travelling with liked it as well. Its very different than your regular hotel room.

Of course it was pretty tiny but for the rate I paid $98 it was a steal.

When I came in later to check in, the agent gave me 3 more coins for more welcome drinks. The lounge is pretty cool too and the welcome drinks were nice.

I had booked queen rooms and got the same as the manager said she would like to upgrade me to king rooms but there would not be any space left to walk around as the rooms as pretty tiny.

There is no closet though and you will have to keep your clothes in the shelves made below your bed - this would work for a short stay and in a place like NYC where you spend only min time in your room.

I really liked the MOXY concept and would definifely stay again, there is one more opening near battery park and would stay there the next time I am in NYC.

I would give this 4/5.

starguy - you will definitely love this place, give it a try.

mustanggt - I think you will like this better than the edition.
