Lounge Review: Lexington Autograph Collection NYC

Blog Post created by ks83 on Sep 12, 2017

Where are you, ks83 ? ................................. Lexington Autograph Collection Hotel NYC

And what's the lounge like?  No lounge per se. The mixing room doubles up as a Elite member lounge only in the mornings.

How's the evening food? In the evening its the mixing room - so you can get some food by paying.

Any free alcohol? No.

Whats the hours? Only Breakfast. During weekdays from 6 30 to 9 30 and 7 to 10 in the weekends. At least we get breakfast in the weekends. Last year when I stayed in May they gave me 1000 points instead.

And are they being meanies and closing the lounge at weekends? Its only open for breakfast but all days.

How about Plat breakfast? Good fruit selection, oatmeal. Hot options included boiled egg, scrambled egg (did not like it though) and potatoes. Starbucks coffee I think - I dont drink coffee my wife does - she said too strong. I really liked the fruit selection even though it was cut in big pieces (I would have liked smaller pieces though).

Upgrades? They did not honor my preference for a King room - but I had booked only a queen though. They did gave me a large room - very large compared to the one teeny tiny room I had last year. The pain was it as on the top floor  - you have to take 2 elevators to get there, after check in had to take 3 ( one to 26 as it did not go to 27 , one more to 27 and a last one to 28). Learnt the lesson and avoided this elevator from next time - had to wait extra time though.

I asked for a Junior suite but it was not available. But going by the room size I was given it was fairly decent by NYC standards.

Additional. Good that they are offering breakfast on weekends. One major concern is the on site restaurant Raffles Bistro does not let you charge to the room as they said its not part of the hotel even though its in the same building - so no points scored on a $80 dinner tab. The hotel charges a $25 destination amenity fee now even though I was able to talk my way out of it as it was not there when I made the reservation. It includes :

1. $20 F&B credit which you cannot use at Raffles so mixing room might be the only option.

2. $30 laundry credit - for the prices they charge you can may be get a shirt done.

3. Water (big deal).

4. 500 points per day for gold and platinum members and for rewards redemption stays.

5. 2 day Citi bike passes per day - which is the only good thing which might be of use. Although you can stay at a different hotel and take the passes yourself.

6. Enhanced internet - again big deal.

SO... I'm sat in the Lexington Autograph collection Elite Member lounge NYC , and it's average (2/5).
