Cosmopolitan hotel Las Vegas.

The Cosmopolitan is our hotel of choice and has been since they opened the doors almost seven years ago. Location, location, location and balconies, it speaks for itself.

Being a Platinum Marriott member (and Gold level) you can check in (and out) via the Autograph lounge, located just inside the glass doors next to the taxi rank arrival and bell desk or left side of the main lobby located in the large Chelsea tower.

We were very quickly greeted and offered cold waters as we stood in line but only for a few minutes. Our room was ready and we had been upgraded to one of the newly renovated rooms on the 53rd floor. Many of the rooms have also been completed and others ongoing as they work to complete the renovation. Take note some of you may hear some noise associated with the ongoing work but nothing that really gave us any reason to complain, some felt otherwise and this resulted in a note of apologies being delivered to our room. Thank you Valerie Rubenstein, Director of Front of house services but totally unneeded in my mind.

Because I was taking advantage of my Identity Points free night the young lady checking us in ensured our room keys would carry over and new keys would not be required for our last day and night. The key card only needs to be touched against the key box to open your door.

Platinum Marriott members also receive a welcome gift of 500 points or small food credit, your choice. Room upgrade when available. Coffee and tea in the lounge 6am - 10pm. 15% off with use of the invited guest/VIP line access to the Wicked Spoon buffet. Complimentary 'Premium 'Internet (ensure your not charged when checking out). 2pm late check out.

The newly renovated suite has a dramatically changed lighting system that now allows you to control the lights from inside the entrance door, via an iPad and also a small black box next b to the bed. You can also access the A/C - heat via the iPad along with room service , alarm wake up and weather. The two television are larger than before. Point to note, gone are the large kitchen style refrigerator and freezer, stoves and microwave! However you can request a microwave, they do have a 'limited' number available for use.

You now have a small dining table with 4 chairs, bar area with lower cupboards containing the mini bar fridge and one for personal use, a nice touch. The usual items for sale sitting on the counter.

New sofa table and chairs in the den area as well as a new telephone and lamp.

The bedroom now has a chaise lounge, long narrow table with 60 inch tv above. New bed with hidden swing out reading lights. New bedside tables and lamps. In the small connecting hall leading to the master bathroom a new mirror has been installed and the cupboard that was always locked and contained a stacked washer and dryer is now open and you can put your suitcases inside. The bathroom has new and much better mirrors and lighting.

 

The second bathroom by the entrance door remains the same except for new wallpaper.

Every surface in the suite has received a revamp. Floor coverings, wallpaper, all doors painted or changed, new black out drapes, new ceiling lights and new toiletries.

 

A very valiant effort designed to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Great workmanship, all done to a high standard befitting this hotel and Marriott.

I asked that our room be serviced around noon each day and this was completed without drama or fanfare. Toiletries replaced everybday. The only issue we encountered was, we were missing an ice bag for the ice bucket two days in a row, big deal eh. We survived.

Every member of staff we encountered and interacted with were courteous, helpful and that makes you feel welcome.

WAAY OVERDUE. I have mentioned this for the last five years!

If she ever leaves I feel a cornerstone of the hotel would be missing.
