Hotel Review: Residence Inn Ft. Myers at I-75 and Gulf Coast Town Center

Blog Post created by iahflyr on Apr 11, 2018

The Extended Stay Fort Myers Hotel | Residence Inn was built in 2014 and still has the look of a brand new hotel.  Having stayed at this property numerous times since it opened the management team ensures the place is maintained to the highest standards in both the operation of everything in the hotel to being one of the cleanest properties we've visited.

The rooms are spotless, kitchens always in complete working order, outdoor BBQ grill is cleaned daily, pool clean and fresh, grounds void of trash and always meticulously kept.  There is ample parking and numerous restaurants/bars in Gulf Coast Town Center just across the parking lot.  Being a five minute drive from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) makes it an excellent choice when flying into/out of RSW.  Also, a short 20-25 minute drive to Ft. Myers Beach as well as the beginning of the Sanible Causeway.  Naples is 30 minutes south on I-75 with Marco Island being another 15-20 minutes at the very most.  Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU, go Eagles) is five minutes away.  For you baseball fans the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Socks have their spring training facilities within 20 minutes at the very most from the hotel, but if you decide to visit next year get those room reservations early as they fill up fast and the best rates will be gone quickly.

Each time we arrive at the hotel we are greeted by a smiling face at the Front Desk and if the Associate is one we know or if Samantha the Guest Services Manager is there we always get a big hug and welcome back......and what many of you Insiders like...."thank you for your loyalty being a Marriott Rewards Platinum member.  It's almost like coming back home and the friendly professional folks greet you with the same smile and say hello no matter how many times a day you cross their paths.  Housekeeping is very well trained and polite with their care of your room as well as helping you with any extra towels, coffee, needing to replace kitchen utensils AND you won't hear banging doors when they clean the room next door or down the hall.

The rooms are good sized as well as the bathrooms.  We prefer the King Studio which is plenty of room for two with a number of plugs for laptops, phones etc., and a huge HD TV with actual HD stations.  These are some of the most comfortable beds you'll find at a RI and the freshness of the room, clean couch, chairs and bathroom will have you smiling.

Oh, the hotel is also dog friendly with a food dish right by the Front Desk, but you'd never know there are any dogs in the hotel unless you see one of them.

Since we love to grill and do it each time we are there it is nice they keep a full bag of necessary grill utensils for you to use and the grill is large enough for a couple of grill masters to share.  The grill is right next to the pool and the fire pit is close by with plenty of seating around.   With a Target Superstore located in Gulf Coast Town Center there is no need to wander around looking for a store to buy goodies for the kitchen.

Speaking of eating....breakfast is pretty much the standard Residence Inn breakfast with the meat offerings changing a couple of times during the week.  The coffee, juice and water are always replenished in a timely manner as well as all the food in the breakfast room.

I highly recommend this property to all who are in the area either for a night or week or longer.  When you stop by tell Samantha I said howdy!
