Just returned from another combined business-pleasure trip to Quebec City, north of Montreal. Even though the weather was a bit cold, which is somewhat unusual for this time of the year; nevertheless, it was another memorable visit. Learned that the number of cruise ships with port-o-call in QC this summer has increased from 180 to 200, so off-season visits are perhaps the best time, especially for reduced hotel tariffs, lessened crowds and ability to secure dining reservations.

Stayed four nights at the Marriott Hotel, just outside the St. Jean gate to the walled, Vieux Quebec, strategically located for walking in/around the city..... We were afforded an upgraded, corner suite, and enjoyed complimentary buffet breakfast each day, with nearby, valet parking (not free).
but if you're a French "foodie" Quebec City is the place to be! There are so many fabulous restaurants......
