How to filter out prepaid rates. When traveling for business pre-paid rates are out of the question. When searching for rates in the area I would like to filter out the prepaid rates. Seams like the new website is pushing prepaid rates.

Below are pictures of the "lounge" benefit at the Delta I am currently staying at... a 5'x~24' glass enclosed pantry in the elevator lobby of the top floor... no seating, coffee maker, bags of chips, cereal, m&ms, nuts, cheese one night of five so far, cans of soda, etc...  At a minimum "lounge" to me implies a place where it's possible to go in,… (Show more)

I found this article by Richard Kerr posted on TPG's website today and I thought it was a well-crafted and extremely poignant download of an issue that we all lament over daily (or whenever we travel), that which is the bain of every hotel-goer's existence: the ridiculous, inexcusable, unjustifiable, reprehensible overcharging of the dreaded… (Show more)

Has anyone had this problem recently? I've stayed at three Marriott properties recently, (Marriott, JW Marriott, & Ritz Carlton) and after all three stays and after 10 to 15 days my qualifying points stays were not recorded. I have had to upload my my receipts and call guest services to have them recorded. Just trying to find out if anyone else… (Show more)

I’m curious how many of you tip the front desk? I’ve given gratuities for housekeeping, bellmen, concierge, and valet, but I’ve recently heard that quite a few people leave gratuities for the front desk as well.

In the past, I understood that if you didn’t maintain a level you would drop down one level.  Will that still be the case?   For example, I will be platinum premier (75) this year, meaning that I would keep that until February 2020. If I do not even maintain Platinum 50 in 2019, would I still be Platinum 50 in 2020.   Thanks!

Saw this on FT today. The Starwood representative posted today that "floater certificates" under the new combined SPG/Marriott program will be canceled. normanp what floater certificates? are these the categoriy 1-5 certificates SPG members earn for hitting 50 nights each year?  If so, does this means if we earn the free night certificate before… (Show more)

Does anyone know the future fate of the best current redemption value for the MR points, i.e. the 7-night Hotel + Air package ? I tend to use these annually, and am thinking that it might make sense to get a base Cat 5 package now for NEXT summer before the "re-categorization" takes place in Aug. I can (hopefully) adjust the Category later by… (Show more)

Finally went through and figured my average points per month earnings for the past 12 months in my quest to secure lifetime platinum before the change (I need points!!).  I was surprised, earnings are over 1.1 million lifetime points earned since joining insiders, and about 400k in the previous 8 yrs as a MR member, so I'm wondering what others… (Show more)
