Would cost $3000 to get Lifetime Plat. with Marriott Visa. Is it worth it?

I have the points for Lifetime Platinum status, but not the nights.  I do have Lifetime Gold.

I have both a business and personal Marriott Visa.

This is my query:

When using other credit cards, I get cash back ranging from 1-3%.

If I switch to using my Marriott Visa for every expense, then I forfeit the cash back.

It takes $3000 charged on the Marriott Visa to get one night elite credit.  That means 1 elite night credit, at a minimum, costs me $30 that I would not receive in cash back.

I need about 100 nights to get Lifetime Platinum.

That is $3000 in lost cash revenue.

Is it worth it?

(I realize I can use the Marriott points received from the purchases to buy gift cards, but the cash equivalent is really, really small. Not a good return on investment.)
