MR Traveler is offering points to take a quiz and find out what type of traveler you resemble....
Thanks for the heads up painedplatinum. I took it twice: budget-wise the first time and family traveler the second. I didn't notice the "select all that apply" on the initial dog choices... interesting. I am going to sign up for Twitter today and tweet my results - tired of being the last to know things and missing out on a few extras.
nationwide, I missed the option to pick multiple dogs, too. I re-did that, and it changed me from Luxury to Sightseer. Apparently choice of dog is a powerful thing! The fact is, I'm all of the above on all of the selections. Budget, Family, Adventurer, Luxury, Sightseer, and whatever else they might have had...
painedplatinum, as this is all new to me, how long does it typically take for points to show up your account? I'm sure that's a funny question, but I want to calibrate my expectations accordingly.
Should happen almost immediately. Usually you'll get a tweet back acknowledging your post and noting the points have been credited. I took this quiz the other day and never got the points. I suspect that is because I took the same quiz a month ago and earned the points then. Funny, both times I end up with "Budget Wise."
bejacob, thanks! They just showed up! I took more dogs on my road-trip the second time around, changed my movie selection, and packed a few more bags! Definitely driving the jeep though!
bejacob, I am sure this goes without saying.... Why is it possible to almost immediately post points from a linked outside application (Twitter in this case), yet it takes days or longer to post points earned in house at a Marriott hotel on Marriott's organic system?
The mystery of the century, for sure!!
I once stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Olean and they had a game at check-in. You spun a wheel and won that prize. I won 1,000 bonus points. What shocked me the most was that these bonus points posted to my account immediately. During this same stay, there was an issue with my room. The manager compensated me with points, but these points took almost a month to post! Boggles the mind.
My points posted within a couple of minutes after I tweeted my results. The thing they wanted me to tweet had too many characters, though. So I had to edit it down a bit. Still got the points.
I got Adventurer and the points posted within a few hours.
Actually, painedplatinum, (as others have noted, but I didn't look carefully in advance) it looks like you get the 100 points for tweeting your result, not for taking the survey. And I don't use my Twitter account to advertise vendors (even if they're my favorites)....
I have tried this several times already (first a couple months ago and then just last week) sharing on both Facebook and Twitter, yet I still have not been credited the 100 bonus points. I have verified and re-verified and even triple-verified that my Twitter account is connected to my Marriott account but still, bupkis.
That being said, based on which photos I choose, I have come up as either a Luxury Lover or Sightseer, both of which are pretty much true.
Has anyone actually successfully received the 100 bonus points for doing this? I think I have done this 10 times now and haven't been awarded once...communitymanagers ?
My 100 points posted in less than a minute, I think...Super fast. Just a dumb question..You're adding the #MRpoints #FindYourRoute to your tweet, right?
rle & jw99 - so sorry about this. We've asked our team to look into this and will share an update when we know more.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
took it twice and tweeted results. No points....
