Church of the Santissima Trinita dei Monti - A renaissance church. The church (and surrounding area including the Villa Medici) belong to the French State. The monastary was built in 1494 when Saint Francis of Paola, a hermit from Calabria, bought a vineyard, and was authorized by Pope Alexander VI to establish a monastery for the Minimite Friars. In 1502, Louis XII of France built the church with French style Gothic arches, next to the monastery, celebrating the invasion of Naples.
