Fairfield Inn - SLC Airport
It was so comfortable, we didn't want to leave!
I stayed in a Fairfield room just like that at the Fairfield Inn Jackson Airport in Jackson, MS. I was just there for my best friends' wedding in which I was the Matron of Honor...It was rather nice for that level of hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly. In fact since that sofa is a sleeper sofa, the bride, my friend Tabitha, crashed in the room with me the night before the wedding.
If folks haven't stayed in the newer built FFI &Suites, they're missing out. When this chain first started popping up, they were not much better than a Motel. I stayed in some that had the doors on the outside and were converted from another brand, rather seedy. In fact, my wife swore off the brand. The newer FFIs are great. The room layouts are better than CY and SHS. IMO
No one can ever tell me though that the other brands are better than the Residence Inn brand. I love to cook, so I ADORE the fact that each room has a kitchen, and you have three choices for a suite size from studio, to one bedroom, to various styles of two bedroom suites. There is a particular Residence Inn that I've gotten nothing but Royal Treatment; The Residence Inn Cincinnati Airport. We stayed in the hotel last Thanksgiving for the first time, and because I discussed my reasons for needing certain things in the kitchen, they upgraded us to a two bedroom suite at no extra charge. We are going to be staying there again this weekend so after a bit of communication with the Front Desk Manager, we are being upgraded again. This is the best treatment we have received out of any hotels we stayed at, Marriott or not...Plus most of them have pools and a hot tub to use, a small store by the front desk should you have forgotten anything, AND free HOT buffet style breakfast the next day. They will do your grocery shopping for you at no extra charge and much, much more; all for the same reasonable price you might pay at a Courtyard or a Fairfield Inn.
Yes, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Salt lake City airport is the same way! We feel like VIP's every time we stay there! Their front desk manager and staff is amazing. I hope to post more pictures from a recent trip and a review soon.
You are so right! I do not know why a family would not want to enjoy a RI? The savings on food alone would pay for most of the cost of the room. I recently stayed at a Ren. where the glass of milk was $10, I walked around the block and got a quart for $2.
Here are two of my all time favorite Marriott properties:
FF, Titusville, Fl (Kennedy Space Center)
RI, Branson, Mo., another wonderful staff and GM!
Am looking forward to trying the FF in SLC, it has got a lot of compliments!
jerrycoin, we have also stayed at a very nice RI with great staff in downtown SLC. About 2 block walk from the downtown convention center as I recall.
