Next stop after Vicenza was Padua (Padova).
We stayed at the AC hotel which is approx 4kms from the town centre.
This suited us fine as we had a car and were using the hotel as a base.
Our hotel deal included the Padova card for 48 hours.
This enabled free entry to the Scrovegni chapel.
The hotel had already booked in our time for the saturday afternoon.
All the information here: http://www.cappelladegliscrovegni.it/index.php/en/
it is a must visit, but must be booked in advanced.
The chapel is climate controlled and the number of people are limited per visit.
You begin by watching a video for about 15 minutes, then you are allowed inside for about 15 minutes.
You are not allowed to take photos and you are must store all your belongings in the cloak room.

We also used the card to visit the botanical gardens, baptistery. This was another amazing building, but no photos allowed inside.
Another benefit of the card was free parking Free parking — Padova Card
Basilica of St Anthony was another amazing church, yet again no photos allowed inside!
Overall Padua was a very nice city to visit.
