Working in a city can be so different than having a "Holiday" in it. So true for Memphis, TN! Having worked there many times, I took "Lady Coin", on her first trip there, and "The Southern Charm" really provided a memorable holiday!
Let me first thank a "Lady" who helped make it all possible! Marie D., who works the "Front Desk" would also qualify as a "Gold Key" Concierge. Her help, and advice really allowed us to relax, dine, sightsee, and appreciate Memphis!
Marie, knows how to "Treat People Well", that's why I nominated her for "A Spirit to Serve Award"! She has wonderful suggestions, connections, and a lot of energy! She helped fill our trip, with a lot of pleasure, information, and of course, memories!
Having only two nights in town, and not wanting to use the car we hit famous places both nights.
The famous, Rendevous, is famous for it's BBQ, and rightly so! Stay's open late, till 10:30 PM during the week, and is usually crowded, but worth the wait.
Secondly, The Peabody, is a wonderful place to dine! Both of these places are short walks from The RI!
This is a lovely place to dine!
For some of the best "Fried Chicken" you will ever have, try Gus's! Laid Back, and cozy! You will have to drive to get there, but well worth the time!
There are beautiful "Civil War" Mansion's and A wonderful "Visitor Center", you may want to hit the Visitor Center, first thing when arriving in Memphis!
The Visitor Center is located right on the river, and the people there are very helpful! You may enjoy the statues of some famous people from Memphis!
Another "King", Elvis!
Sun Studio's is another famous place to visit! Where the "Million Dollar Quartet, performed!
Don't forget Beall Street!
You will have to leave your "Reptiles" at home!
Next post will be on "Graceland", a wonderful experience!
